Tell us about your experience at the Hip Hop Film Festival. I watched a few horror films on the first day because that is one of my favorite genres. My schedule didn't permit more latitude.

Why are stories from the culture important? Because for centuries our images were controlled and manipulated by systemic racists, and that denial of our true images makes us feel less than and forced to emulate to fit into white norms and society.

What projects are you working on now? I just completed editing in a music video compilation titled Industrious Grind: Colossal featuring: Harlem's own the late Omar Chandler, Lennie Polo, LJ Jenkins, Jr, and Snoop Dogg. I am outlining a new screenplay.

Why do you think the Harlem Film House and Hip Hop Film Festival are important? Because they are both vital and so appreciated as an incubator for POC film and talent.
